Universitas Putera Batam Conducts Benchmarking Visit to Universiti Teknologi Malaysia

Johor Bahru, Malaysia – January 23, 2025  

Universitas Putera Batam (UPB) conducted a benchmarking visit to Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) today, aimed at strengthening academic collaboration and improving institutional practices. The visit involved UPB`s leadership team, faculty members, and administrative staff, who engaged in discussions with their counterparts at UTM to explore best practices in education, research, and university management.

The benchmarking session focused on key areas such as curriculum development, research collaboration opportunities, digital transformation in education, and quality assurance processes. During the meeting, both universities shared insights on their strategies for academic excellence, industry partnerships, and student engagement.  

UPB Rector, Dr. Nur Elfi Husda, S.Kom., M.Si, expressed optimism about the outcomes of the visit, stating, “Our goal is to learn from UTM`s experiences and implement innovative strategies that align with international educational standards. This visit marks a significant step in enhancing our institutional capabilities.”  

Meanwhile, UTM`s, welcomed the UPB delegation and highlighted the importance of cross-institutional collaboration in driving educational advancements. 

As part of the visit, the UPB delegation toured various UTM facilities, including research centers, innovation hubs, and smart classrooms, gaining first-hand exposure to the university`s cutting-edge initiatives in science and technology.  

The benchmarking visit is expected to result in future collaborations between the two institutions, including joint research projects, faculty exchange programs, and knowledge-sharing initiatives. 

Both universities expressed their commitment to fostering stronger academic ties and leveraging their strengths to contribute to regional and global educational development.
